Tips for better sleep
Keep a sleep journal. How? Find out here! This will help you understand your sleep patterns and make adjustments as needed. If you wake up and have trouble falling back asleep, don’t toss and turn but get out of bed. Spend a few minutes doing something else, then crawl back into bed when you start to feel sleepy.
Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, sugar and caffeine before bed. Your body has to process these substances, which can keep you awake at night.
Create a healthy sleep environment. Your room should be well-ventilated and not too warm. Most people sleep best in a dark room. Avoid screens as much as possible.
If you have trouble falling asleep, meditate, do breathing exercises or find a relaxing activity, such as daydreaming or a body scan.
