After exercising, time for relaxation!

Did you go all out in the fitness area, during one of our group lessons or on the tennis court? Then it’s time for some well-deserved relaxation! Thermae Sports Merchtem offers a wide range of wellness facilities, each with its own healing and cleansing effect on both body and mind. You will be surprised at what one hour of wellness can do for you.

Subject to prior reservation, we also offer relaxation and sports massages. Book one quickly, your muscles will be grateful!

Steam bath

The steam bath is literally a cabin filled with steam. The warm steam opens up your pores and thus cleanses the skin. In addition, the eucalyptus fragrance in this cabin is beneficial to your airways and will help to fight minor ailments such as a cold. It’s the perfect spot to get completely warmed up for a while.

Infrared sauna

Adjacent to the swimming pool, you will find the infrared sauna. Infrared rays are very good to relax your muscles after sports activities. Moreover, they reduce tensions and joint aches, they are beneficial to the skin and they detoxify the body. Ideal for your body’s recovery!

Finnish sauna

This traditional Finnish sauna in the wellness area of Thermae Sports is made entirely of kelo wood. This is a type of wood that absorbs heat very well, then releases it slowly.

This sauna offers numerous benefits:

  • Boosts the immune system
  • Increases your resistance to diseases and ailments
  • Eliminates toxins from the body
  • Burns extra calories

We recommend that you stay in this sauna no longer than 15 minutes. Shorter is of course allowed! You get the best results when you listen to your body and get out in time.

Don't forget to cool down afterwards to bring your body back to normal temperature.

Swimming pool

The pool is located right in the heart of our wellness. You can swim a few lengths or just take a dip after an intense workout. Swimming is very good for your heart and muscles, it lowers your blood pressure and cholesterol levels and also helps you sleep better.
