What is Start Smart?
Start Smart is a beginner-friendly concept designed to help you ease into fitness. The idea is simple yet powerful: start slow, progress step by step, and learn what your body is capable of – at your own pace. Instead of jumping straight into a high-intensity class, you’ll follow a structured build-up that helps you develop your technique, strength, and stamina safely.
Why choose Start Smart?
✅ Low-threshold entry – no stress or pressure
✅ Learn at your pace with guidance from skilled instructors
✅ Prevent injuries through a gradual build-up
✅ More fun and faster progress thanks to a stronger foundation
How does it work at our club?
When you sign up for a Les Mills class as a beginner, just let us know. We’ll make sure you can join safely, with tips, modifications, and extra support when needed.
For example: Are you joining a BodyPump class and starting with the Start Smart principle? Then you don’t need to do the full 60-minute session. You can stop after the first 4 tracks (about 20 minutes). After that, you can gradually do more, at your own pace.
Whether you're into BODYBALANCE™, BODYPUMP™, RPM™, or another popular Les Mills workout, Start Smart gives you the tools to build a strong and confident fitness journey.
Ready to Start Smart?
Join one of our classes today and let us know you're starting with the Start Smart program. We're here to help you every step of the way!

Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. It is widely known as a stress hormone, but that label is too negative. In essence, cortisol is an energy system: it helps your body and brain generate energy, focus, and alertness when you need it.
