Thermae Grimbergen – new luxury scrubbing session

At Thermae Grimbergen, our wellness customers can take part free of charge in our daily wellness programme, consisting of a wide range of Aufguss, scrubbing and relaxation sessions. Among them, two different daily scrubbing sessions, of which the session at 18:30 in the steam bath is now a luxury scrubbing session!

During an ordinary scrubbing session, everyone is given a handful of salt to scrub their skin. During the luxury scrubbing session (herbal scrub), you are given a mixture of salt and dried herbs. What herbs (lavender, rosemary or thyme) are used is different every time, decided by the Aufguss master leading the session.

All three herbs promote relaxation, with lavender and thyme also having a painkilling effect. Lavender cleanses the skin, thyme disinfects the air around you and rosemary helps reduce stress.

At the end of the luxury scrubbing session, everyone is given a magnolia face cream to apply. This cream boost the skin’s ability to renew itself and soothes irritated skin. Magnolia not only smells divine, it also has antibacterial properties, which helps alleviate breathing problems, among other things.
