Today, we are talking to Kiefer, general manager. He is not that into saunas, but he is a big fan of wellness baths. ‘I mostly work at Thermae Boetfort and I love having a little soak in the Jacuzzi after work. I can quite happily spend an hour in it, bubbling away, enjoying the warm water and gazing at the castle or garden. Another favourite of mine is floatation. Just floating in water, effortlessly, is amazing! And I love that feeling of the warm water subtly touching my chin.’
When asked about his favourite massage or treatment, Kiefer replied: ‘In my day-to-day life, I don’t use skincare products, but I do enjoy a relaxing face or head massage. My way of taking care of myself is to cook healthy food. I’m a fan of the cookbooks by Pascale Naessens, especially the one with four ingredients. The recipes in it are simple, quick to prepare, healthy and cheap. So, I do watch what I eat! And at Thermae Boetfort, I regularly take part in a Tibetan singing bowls session. I love the peaceful sounds they create and how you can feel the vibrations in your body. You really do notice the difference when the Aufguss master moves away with the singing bowl or comes closer to your body. I also love taking part in a scrubbing session now and then. Especially the new Herbal scrub. The cream you are given at the end of the session is a nice little extra!’
Relaxation is important to Kiefer in his life outside work too. For instance, when the weather is nice, he tries to go for a walk after dinner with his girlfriend, just strolling through the neighbourhood. ‘Neither of us are big exercisers, and this way, we still get some exercise every day. Besides this, I relax by reading, watching TV or meeting up with friends. And especially by laughing a lot, because a day without laughter is a day wasted!’
