Did you know that the correct use of towels in the sauna does not only promote good hygiene, it also ensures that everyone is able to enjoy a pleasant wellness experience? A towel plays a key role during your sauna visit. Discover our tips and dos and don’ts below.
A few tips for correct towel use at the thermal baths
- Bring two towels for your sauna day. One to use in the saunas and a fresh one to dry yourself with before going home.
- In all our saunas, you should sit or lie with your whole body on a towel. And yes, that includes your feet and head. This helps protect our wooden sauna benches and ensures everyone gets to enjoy a hygienic sauna experience.
- A bathrobe is not a towel. Hang your bathrobe on the bathrobe rack before entering the sauna. So, you shouldn’t be taking your bathrobe into the sauna to dry it, for instance. We also ask you to wear a bathrobe in the bar and restaurant (including on the terrace).
- In the steam bath, however, you don’t need a towel. If you were to take one into the steam bath with you, it would soon get damp because of the steam. You do need to rinse off your seat in the steam bath before sitting down. Use the dedicated water hoses on the benches to do so. But do be careful not to spray the people sitting around you.
- In the Aufguss sessions, you also have to sit on a towel.
- Don’t forget your spa slippers because they are mandatory if you want to walk around our thermal baths.
