Massages have been used for centuries to help people unwind and ease physical discomfort. Science confirms what many have long felt: a good massage has a powerful, positive influence on your wellbeing. It’s not a replacement for medical treatment, but it can offer valuable support for many complaints.

Less stress

Do you often feel rushed? Constantly switched on? During a massage, your body shifts from fight or flight mode into deep relaxation. Your parasympathetic nervous system takes over: your heart rate slows, cortisol (your main stress hormone) decreases, while your body produces more

  • serotonin,
  • endorphins
  • and dopamine.

These natural feel-good chemicals recharge your batteries from within. A 2024 study found that 83% of people who receive regular massages experience significantly fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression. Their mental tension eased and overall mood improved.

Letting go does more than you think.

Less muscle pain

Targeted pressure, gentle strokes and slow kneading increase blood flow to your muscles. Stiffness softens, knots ease and tension melts away almost immediately.

As mentioned above: a massage stimulates the production of endorphins. Hormones that improve your mood, but which are also known as natural painkillers that make you experience less pain and give you more freedom of movement.

The effects also build over time. Regular massages have a cumulative impact. A clinical study showed that a 60-minute massage three times a week for four weeks reduced symptoms up to fivefold, while twice‑weekly massages tripled the improvement.

A single massage relaxes. Regular massages truly transform.

Better sleep

Do you lie awake at night? Do you often wake up in the middle of the night? Massage has a proven positive effect on sleep quality. By lowering stress hormones and relaxing your muscles, your body naturally shifts into a calmer state. You are all set to go to sleep.

Rising serotonin levels help you:

  • fall asleep faster,
  • sleep deeper and
  • wake less during the night.

A study among menopausal women showed that regular massages led to deeper sleep and fewer awakenings. Better sleep means more energy, more focus and more resilience.

Our most popular massage

Our 80-minute Full Body Massage is our most booked treatment – and that’s no surprise, as being massaged from head to toe for that long is pure bliss. For those who prefer a shorter treatment, the 50-minute body massage is the second most popular. And, finally, many people like just a short massage: among the 25‑minute options, the back, shoulder and neck massage is the clear favourite.

How often should you book a massage? There is no single rule that fits everyone. The ideal frequency depends on your goals, symptoms and lifestyle. To give you an idea, here are a few guidelines.

  • Weekly: ideal for pain or high stress.
  • Twice a month: strong reduction in stress hormones.
  • Monthly: perfect for maintaining relaxation.

Should you choose a short or long massage? Again, there is no rule. Even short massages are surprisingly effective. Research from the Touch Research Institute found that even 10–15 minutes can produce measurable benefits.

  • Want a quick recharge? Choose a short massage.
  • Want deeper, longer-lasting results? Choose a longer one.
