The change of seasons is the perfect moment to take a closer look at your beauty routine. Perhaps your skincare routine could use a little update?

The cold air outside and the dry, heated air indoors cause your skin to lose moisture, often leading to dryness and a dull complexion.

What happens to your skin in winter?

When the temperature drops, your skin’s natural sebum production slows down.
As a result, it loses moisture more quickly and feels drier. The air outside contains less humidity, while indoor heating dries the air even more. The outcome? Skin that feels tight, flaky or even cracked.
What’s more, blood circulation slows down slightly in winter, making your skin look duller and reducing its ability to recover. Your protective skin barrier also weakens, allowing harmful substances and bacteria to enter more easily.

Adapt your skincare to winter conditions

Just as you put on a thicker coat in winter, your skin also needs a warmer, richer "skincare ritual".
1. Cleanse gently
Use a mild, moisturising cleanser that doesn’t strip your skin. Avoid products with alcohol or harsh soaps. A creamy or milky cleanser helps retain moisture better.
2. Hydrate generously
Choose a richer day and night cream with nourishing ingredients such as:

  • Hyaluronic acid: helps your skin retain moisture
  • Argan oil: nourishes and softens
  • Vitamin E: protects against free radicals

Apply your cream to slightly damp skin for optimal absorption.
3. Don't forget your lips and hands
Because lips and hands contain fewer sebaceous glands, they dry out more quickly. Use a nourishing lip balm and a hand cream rich in natural oils or butters.
4. Exfoliate in moderation
A gentle exfoliation once or twice a week removes dead skin cells and helps your skincare products absorb better. Avoid overly strong scrubs, especially if you have sensitive skin.
5. Protect from the sun
UV protection remains important, even in winter! The sun may feel weaker, but UV rays still contribute to skin ageing. Use a day cream with SPF 15 or higher every day.

Did you know that …

… the air in your home during winter can sometimes be drier than in the desert? Using a humidifier can work wonders for both your skin and your breathing.
Choose professional care for that extra boost! Alongside your daily routine, a professional facial treatment can give your skin the support it needs. A hydrating mask or treatment with nourishing serums will restore moisture and revive your skin’s natural glow.
