As you arrive at our centuries-old castle estate, you notice it straight away. The busy outside world fades. A calm silence takes over. This is a place where you can slow down.

Feel the warmth of the saunas. The gentle steam in the steam baths. The soothing heat of the jacuzzi. The soft touch of a massage… Everything invites you to simply let go.

At first, you might feel a little unsure. Where do you start? What comes first? No need to worry. Just follow your feeling. The entire complex is designed so you naturally move through the perfect sauna flow.

Nude or swimwear? The choice is yours

One of the most common questions and maybe your biggest hesitation.

Good to know: at Thermae Boetfort, you can choose 7 days a week.

  • A swimwear area
  • A nude area

Both are fully separated, so you can relax in your own comfort zone.

There’s no right or wrong. Just do what feels best for you.

What should you bring?

A little preparation makes everything easier.

Essentials:

  • A bathrobe
  • Two towels
  • Slippers

Nice extras:

  • Body lotion and/or sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • A book or magazine

Phones, laptops and tablets are not allowed — so you can truly disconnect.

Forgot something? No problem. You can rent everything on-site. We’re happy to help you get started.

How does a sauna visit work?

You don’t need any experience at all.

Just step inside and let yourself be guided by the atmosphere. Have questions? Our reception team and sauna masters are always nearby to help.

Start with a shower before entering a sauna or steam bath.

After each session:

  • Get some fresh air
  • Take a cold shower
  • Use the cold plunge pool

Then take time to warm up and rest again.

A simple rule: cool down for about as long as you stayed in the heat.

After that, you’re ready for the next round. Or not… just listen to your body.

In the sauna, always sit or lie on a towel. That’s the main guideline.

Not sure how to begin? These small tips can help:

  • Start on the lower benches (less intense heat)
  • Sit upright before leaving if you’ve been lying down
  • Drink enough water
  • Take your time

There’s no rush. This is your moment.

Ready to press pause?

Sometimes, all it takes is one first step.
