Want fresh, soft skin that looks radiant? Make sure to include a regular scrub in your skincare regime. Doing so removes dead skin cells, while also boosting the production of new ones. But what is the right way to do a scrub?
Always start with wet skin. Have a warm shower or bath. This softens your skin and opens up your pores, allowing for a more effective scrub. Next, apply the scrub product and gently massage it into your skin, using circular movements. Apply light pressure when doing so. You want to activate your skin, not damage it.
Some areas will need a little more attention. Think of your elbows, knees and heels i.e. those areas where your skin is often a bit thicker or drier. Yes, spend extra time on these areas, but remember to be gentle here too.
When you are done, rinse yourself properly. This removes any dead skin cells and residual scrub product. Then, pat yourself dry with a soft towel: it’s better to pat than rub to avoid irritating your skin.
And last but not least: moisturise! Your skin is totally ready now to absorb your skincare products. Apply a nourishing cream or body oil to keep your skin supple and moisturised.
You should do a scrub no more than once or twice a week, depending on your skin type. Doing it too often can do more harm than good. So, listen to your skin and give it the TLC it deserves.
Why not let yourself be pampered instead of doing your own scrub? At our beauty clinic, you can enjoy a professional treatment every day of the week. Choose between two options: a short 25-minute treatment or an extensive 50-minute session that combines the peeling with a gentle, relaxing effleurage with a moisturising product. Both treatments are pure pampering for your body!
