Going to the sauna in summer is pure bliss! Cooling off in our natural swimming pond is much more inviting than during freezing winter temperatures, the terrace of our garden bar is the perfect place to relax, and soaking up the sun on the terrace or in the greenery is simply wonderful. But what should you bring along to enjoy a carefree day at the sauna?
What swimwear is allowed at Thermae Grimbergen?
At Thermae Grimbergen, you can enjoy our facilities every day, both with and without swimwear. Our public thermal facilities are divided into two separate areas, and your admission ticket gives you access to both.
Of course, you are required to respect the dress code applicable in each area.
You can find a detailed overview of which types of swimwear are allowed and not allowed at Thermae Grimbergen here.
In short:
For men, only short, close-fitting swim shorts are permitted. Loose-fitting and/or longer swim shorts are not allowed. Women may choose between a swimsuit or a bikini. Thongs, swim dresses and burkinis are not permitted.
What bath linen do you need for a day at Thermae Grimbergen?
Bring at least two large towels:
- One towel to place on the wooden benches in the sauna. The intention is that your entire body is in contact with the towel while sitting or lying down.
- A second towel is useful for drying yourself comfortably at the end of the day before heading home.
A bathrobe is mandatory in the restaurant and bar areas.
Bath slippers are also mandatory throughout our thermal facilities for both hygiene and safety reasons.
Summer skincare essentials
A good sunscreen or other sun protection product is, of course, essential. You only have one skin, so take good care of it and always protect it properly.
After a summer sauna day, there's nothing quite like applying a moisturising body lotion after your shower. It helps restore hydration and leaves your skin feeling soft, comfortable and refreshed.
