Hotel manager Elisabeth suffers from dry skin, so she always takes good care of her skin. ‘I like to pamper myself with a microdermabrasion facial treatment. This consists of a microcrystal peeling, which deeply cleanses your skin. Whenever I have this treatment, my skin generally breaks out in a few spots afterwards because impurities are being drawn out, but soon after, my skin looks radiant for several weeks or months!’

Because of her eczema, Elisabeth often gets very dry patches. ‘This winter, the skin under my eyes was very dry, even cracked. Our beauty therapist Lily advised me to use the eye cream by Sirène, a richer product that was easily absorbed and after using it, the dry patches soon disappeared!’

Exercise is important to Elisabeth too, so she has a cross trainer at home which she uses now and then. Apart from this, she tries to eat healthy as much as possible by choosing mostly fresh foods and staying away from ready-made meals or fast food. ‘I like to relax by spending time with friends or going on outings with my boyfriend. I don’t really take that much wellness me-time, because it’s a bit too related to the work I do. That said, I did have a wonderful face and head massage recently, which totally relaxed me. When I do go to the sauna, I prefer to go to Thermae Boetfort. Here, at Thermae Grimbergen, the regulars know me too well. The hammam is my favourite and whenever I go, a scrubbing session is a must-do for me. The salt peeling makes my skin feel lovely and soft and afterwards, my skin always absorbs the products I use better. I really do notice an improvement in my eczema with these scrubs.’

Elisabeth is a busy bee who finds it hard to switch off. ‘When I go to bed, I often listen to ASMR, it helps me fall asleep faster. The Tibetan singing bowls sessions remind me of these sounds, so during those sessions I also always manage to really relax.’
